Jamaica is currently ranked 24th on the medal table by quality. The island has two gold, two silver and two bronze medals.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce added the 200m silver medal to her 100m title. Hansle Parchment also added to the medal haul with a surprise bronze medal in the 110m hurdles.

Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake did a 1-2 in the men’s 100m while Fraser-Pryce and Veronica Campbell-Brown finished 1-3 in the women’s event over the weekend.

China still leads the table with 36 gold medals, 77 total. The US has 34 gold in their stash of 81 medals while host Great Britain lie third with 22 gold, 48 in total.

Jamaica is likely to increase its medal haul after the men’s 200m final tomorrow.
