J Wray & Nephew serves up 120 scholarships
As a member of the corperate community, J Wray & Nephew Ltd has been giving scholarships to children of J.Wray & Nephew staff and members of the surrounding community of Seaview Gardens and Waterhouse.
Last Tuesday the company’s hospitality lounge was the venue for the Scholarship Awards Presentation. Students from primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. A total of 120 tuition scholarship valued in excess of $5m.
The students received tips and encouragement from guest speaker Robert Launcelot Gregory, Executive Director of HEART. The student we called up by name one by proudly to collect their packages. The applause n cheer from proud parents could be heard a mile away.
Trophies were awarded to top students were successful in four categories: Grade Six Achievement Test, the CSEC exams, CAPE and at the University level.
Alysia Sangster of George Headley Primary, top GSAT student and will be attending Campion College start of the new school year. Leslie-Anne Bernard of Immaculate Conception High received nine Grade Ones in the CSEC examinations and will be heading to South Africa to the United World College.
