MONTEGO BAY, St James — Ten students whose parents are employed to Secrets Resorts and Spa were last week presented with scholarships valued at $500,000 during the resort’s Employee/Leader of the Quarter awards function.

The function was held to recognise those employees who have made outstanding contributions to the resort and have displayed the qualities of exceptional job performance under the theme “Golden Jubilee- Growing with Jamaica”.

Minister of Tourism and Entertainment Wykeham McNeill commended the Secrets staff for what he described as exceptional hospitality.

“I have felt a great sense of hospitality and I really feel at home. Having seen what I have seen today I am proud and as your minister of tourism……… keep up the good work,” he told the employees.

The evening showcased the talents of several members of the resort’s entertainment team.

Lee Patience won the prize for Best Drama and also for Best Dance and Best Overall piece along with his dance partner Venesa Blake.

Special guest performer Roy Rayan had the audience dancing and contributed to the already vibrant atmosphere.

Other team members recognised were:

*Anthony Hylton, Employee for the month of June;

* Beverley Vassell, Supervisor for the month of June;

* Shreene Richard, Employee for the month of July; *Ann-Marie Vassell, Supervisor for the month of July;

* Kerisha Keddo, Employee for the month of August and,

* Caulette Mornan, Supervisor for the monthly of August.

Veteran broadcaster Francois St Juste was the emcee for the evening, while Pace Band thrilled the audience during their entertainment segment.
