Rumours started last week that the expecting beauty queen Yendi Phillips and boyfriend, Daniel ‘Chino’ McGregor may have finally decided to tie the knot.

In previous interviews, Phillips spoke about the possibility of being married to Chino, insisting that she did not believe that one required a wedding in order to experience marriage and stating that she was already in a wonderful union with the recording artiste.

The speculation ballooned on social media after fans of the former Miss Jamaica spotted her sporting what looked like an engagement ring while hosting on Television Jamaica’s morning show Smile Jamaica, It’s Morning Time.

Over the weekend, another rumour stating that the beauty queen had gone into labour, while in Ocho Rios celebrating their engagement. She dispelled this on Twitter, saying that she was very much pregnant despite what all there was to say in the media.

Popcaan releases new line

Following in the steps of the Vybz Kartel, Di Teacha’, the young protégé Popcaan has been making strides in the fashion industry. Reports are that Popcaan’s has released a new T-shirt line for both males and females, which is said to be the ground work for bigger and better things.

The line which is created by designer Romeich is said to come in a wide variety of colours including: pink, dark and light blue, orange, red and white. Slangs indigenous to Popcaan such as ‘Yaoow’, ‘Peppa Skull’, ‘Fry Yiy’ and ‘Wha Gwaan’ is said to dominate the front of the shirts while the back boasts a cartoon of the artiste himself.

Popcaan’s T-shirts will be available in stores in Kingston, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios in mid-November.

Jamaica finishes 5th in Paralympics

Jamaican Alphonso Cunningham was forced to settle with his lone gold in the Javelin throw at the London 2012 Paralympics. He was unsuccessful in securing a medal in the men’s discus F51 to 53 category, despite producing a season best effort.

Cunningham assumed fourth position after completing his sixth throw in the discus, while in the women’s javelin competition, Sylvia Grant finished eighth.

Jamaica’s participation at the 2012 Paralympic Games ended on Thursday with the nation getting one gold medal, finishing in 50th position of the 160 participating countries.
