Cop photographed shooting man faces court February

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Detective Sergeant Lloyd Kelly, the cop who was caught on camera allegedly shooting a Buckfield St Ann man to death, is to be tried for murder on February 25.

The date was set when Kelly appeared in the Home Circuit Court today. The trial was scheduled to start today but postponed until the February date as witnesses were not available.

Ian ‘Ching Sing’ Lloyd was shot on July 29 of 2010 and the incident was photographed using a cell phone and broadcast on television news.

The police sergeant is currently on $1 million bail.
