THIRTY-YEAR-OLD Jamaican international Omar Cummings scored his sixth goal on Sunday for Colorado Rapids in their 2-2 draw with Vancouver Whitecaps at BC Place Stadium in British Columbia.

Starting in his 19th of 24 matches played this season in the US Major League Soccer, Cummings netted a right-footer in the 34th minute before Alain Rochat tied up the match 1-1 on 64.

Kenny Miller put the Whitecaps ahead 2-1 in the 68th and Jamie Smith pulled back one for Colorado to stay in seventh place in the Western Conference with 30 points, while Whitecaps are fifth with 38.

In Finland, Steven Morrissey increased his goal tally to 13 on Sunday when Mariehamn defeated his team VPS 3-1 in the Veikkausliiga (Finland Premier League).

Morrissey booted home in the 74th after a double from Mattias Wiklöf (30th and 57th) and Tommy Wirtanen (72nd).

Twenty-six-year-old Morrissey is the second leading scorer in the Veikkausliiga, after Inter Turku’s Georgian striker Irakli Sirbiladze, who leads with 15 goals.

Meanwhile, 32-year-old Ricardo Fuller, scoring his first goal in four games and in the starting line-up for the first time, struck in the 50th minute for Charlton Athletic to clip Ipswich Town, 2-1, on Saturday at Portman Road Stadium and end their three-match losing streak in the English League Championship.

The Addicks went ahead in the 48th when an appealing ball from the right eluded Bradley Wright-Phillips, but was recycled on the left and sent back to the Ipswich area where captain Johnnie Jackson directed in his effort.

Two minutes later Fuller doubled the advantage after Massimo Luongo lost the ball which sparked a counter-attack from Charlton, only for the Jamaican to drill home from the right side of the penalty area.

Jason Scotland reduced the arrears for Ipswich in the 57th when a sharp deflection off Michael Morrison from his tame effort at a distance wrong-footed goalkeeper Ben Hamer.

Fuller, who spent six seasons at Stoke City before moving to Charlton Athletic this year, has so far logged 163 minutes for his new club. Three times he was brought on substitute and once taken out, having taken eight shots on goal.

Meanwhile in an English League Two game at Vale Park, also on Saturday, Deon Burton scored in the 11th for Gillingham to beat Port Vale, 2-0.

The much-travelled Burton, who turns 36 next month, netted his third goal from seven matches.
