CANADA-BASED artiste Kafinal is enjoying success with his latest song, Falling in Love. The singer/actor, who shot to fame in 2004 with the amusing Cooking Dat Pwile with deejay Sambo, spoke to Splash recently.

“A lot has been happening and I am pleased with the way things are shaping up right now. I have been getting some shows and endorsements, as well as a growing fan base. I couldn’t ask for anything else,” he said.

Kafinal recently co-hosted the Canadian reggae show Rebel Vibez with Carrie Mullings which airs on CHRY 105.5 FM in Toronto.

Falling in Love is currently number six on that programme’s Top Ten Reggae countdown. On popular Toronto disc jockey Richard Banton’s weekly countdown, Falling in Love is number three on the Bubblers chart.

Kafinal recently performed at dancehall artiste Delly Ranxs’ album launch, and the Caribbean Music and Entertainment Awards. Both were held in Canada last month.

Tony Anthony hails his Simple Girl

Following the success of songs like Settle Down and Living in Glory, Toronto reggae singer Tony Anthony follows up with his latest single Simple Girl.

The track was produced by Adrian Hanson for the Donsome Records label.

Simple Girl is the lover’s rock singer’s third release this year. He believes it has the potential to be his biggest hit yet.

“This is the type of song a lot of people will be attracted to, because it deals with a topic that most persons have experienced some time in their life,” he said. “I’ve lived this story hence the strong vocal emotions.”

Tony Anthony knows the power of a love song all too well. His 2010 hit, Torn, spent two weeks at number one on disc jockey Richie B’s Top 25 Reggae Singles Chart in Jamaica. It maintained a top 10 position for more than four months on the Foundation Radio Network’s Reggae Singles Charts, in New York and South Florida.

Wicked times for Turban X

Singer Turban X’s new song, The Wicked, has topped the Big Bang Radio Top 30 chart in Britain.

The former Jamaica Constabulary Force member, who now resides in New York City, has high hopes for the song which is featured on the Evening Breeze compilation album produced by New York’s EMMP Promotions.

Turban X is currently preparing for a promotional tour of England that is scheduled to begin on October 25.

Turban X is also preparing to release a follow-up single titled Kings and Queens on the Big One Drop rhythm.
