AQUA Youths ‘A’ defeated Sky Legends, 67-57, as the Hi-Lyte/INSPORTS Community Basketball League continued at Tivoli Basketball Courts at the weekend.

The winners were chalking up their second win from as many starts as Sky Legends lost their first game from two outings. Aqua ‘A’ led 29-22 at half-time. Carlong Grey with 24 points and Colin Wright with 16 were the principal scorers for Aqua ‘A’, while Nigel Gardener garnered 13 points and Javon Davis 12 and 15 rebounds for the losers.

The quarterly scores for the winners were 12-10, 17-12, 18-18 and 20-17.

Portmore Blazers beat The Saints, 63-53, after leading 28-16 at half-time. Nicardo Clarke with 24 points and Gary Reid with 11 were the top scorers for the winners, while for the losers, Andre Beckford scored 16 points.

The quarterly scores for the winners were 17-12, 11-14, 22-16, 9-13. The win was Blazers’ first from two starts.

Pembroke Hall defeated Ebony Volcanoes, 56-24, after leading 33-11 at the half-time break. Dane Treasurer scored 14 points for the winners, while Donovan Clarke scored seven and had 11 rebounds for the losers. Quarterly scores for the winners were 19-5, 16-6, 8-8 and 15-7.

Meanwhile on Sunday, Spanish Town Meadows chalked up their second consecutive win from as many games by defeating New Creation, 67-60. New Creation were suffering their first defeat in two starts. Damion Johnson with 27 points and Ramesh Brown with 20 were the main scorers for Meadows.

In other results, Denham Town defeated Ebony Volcanoes, 61-35, and Aqua Youths ‘B’ beat Police, 49-25.

Due to the inclement weather, matches have been postponed until the weather returns to normality.
