Be Careful – Top cop urges motorists to exercise caution
SENIOR Superintendent of Police Radcliffe Lewis, head of the Police Traffic Division, is urging motorists to take every precaution while traversing the roadways during this period.
“Avoid driving through fordings and try to avoid going through heavy water,” SSP Lewis told Auto.
“Avoid unfamilar routes and be observant of the road,” he continued.
The top cop also urged drivers to be mindful of pedestrians using the roads. “Make every effort not to splash pedestrians using the roads. If it means that you have to cut your speed, please do so,” he said.
He also used the opportunity to reassure the public that the police would be out in their full numbers to ensure the roads are secure.
“We’ll ensure there are enough police on the roads to secure them and guide them during this time,” he said.
