Int’l hockey returns to local shores
THE St Andrew and Munro College Old Boys Hockey clubs, through their brand “Fun-At-The-Turf”, and in association with the Jamaica Hockey Federation (JHF), will host the Cayman Hockey Club for a series of games in women, mixed and men’s divisions next Saturday and Sunday.
Kingston Commissioners, the newest hockey club, will participate with a series of football games.
Donald James, a member of the 1962 national team and currently the technical director for the National Under-21 team and Munro College Old Boys Hockey Club, will be the patron. All the members of his team and the female 1962 team are being invited to participate in this Jamaica 50 endorsed event.
Competitions in the mixed division will see both teams competing for the Alex Horner Trophy and the Alliance Investment Cup.
The Under-21 teams who recently competed in the Pan-American youth championship will be displaying their skills against local teams and the Caymanians. The competitions will take a break at 11:00 am on Sunday, Remembrance Day, to honour our veterans.
