Partying woman fined for disorderly conduct
MONTEGO BAY, St James — A young woman who told the Montego Bay Resident Magistrates Court she had a difference with her “new friend” over their style of partying was fined after admitting to disorderly conduct and using abusive language.
Shericka Thorpe was arrested on November 5 after police was called to a section of Kent Avenue where loud music was being played. Police say Thorpe and another woman who were in the presence of about a dozen men were seen behaving boisterously.
Thorpe and the other woman — who failed to attend court on Tuesday — were arrested and charged.
Thorpe told the court she and her “new friend” were partying and the other woman objected to something, an argument developed and a fight broke out.
Thorpe was fined $1500 and warned by Resident Magistrate Sandria Wong-Small that she should not show up in court again any time soon on a similar charge.
