The ATL Automotive/Volkswagen Junior and Mentor Tennis Classic will be held today at the Liguanea Club, New Kingston when adults team up with juniors in competitive action.

Plays starts at 9:00 am culminating in the finals in the afternoon.

The Junior and Mentor programme is the brainchild of Llockett McGregor and has the full support of Tennis Jamaica. ATL Automotive through their Volkswagen brand as title sponsor is very pleased to be associated with an event that encourages ‘giving back’, and also has the potential for positive lasting effects on the development of young tennis players in Jamaica.

The unique tournament will feature amateurs, adults, some of whom are local celebrities, corporate executives and parents. According to Judith Denton, Marketing Manager at ATL Automotive, the aim is to strengthen bonds and hopefully will result in the adult amateurs following the progress of their junior partners on and off the courts.

“The tournament acts as a bridge that brings all tennis players, across the age groups, together at a single event, and encourages dialogue and awareness between the senior and junior tennis playing communities,” Denton said.
