Sprint champions Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce were the 2012 recipients of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) Golden Cleats Awards, beating out last year’s recipients Yohan Blake and Veronica Campbell-Brown.

Bolt picked up yet another award due to his performance at the London 2012 Olympics where he repeated his triple gold medal streak, winning the 100 and 200 metres and sprint relay in record time.

Fraser-Pryce also went on retained her 100-metre title as well as copped silver medals in the 200 metre and sprint relay.

Adele to make 2013 comeback

It was alleged that English singer-songwriter Adele is expected to make her first live performance at the Oscars’ 85th annual award show since her pregnancy.

It is said that the singer will perform the theme song to latest of the James Bond compilation Skyfall which she recorded.

It was announced that this year’s staging will be a tribute to James Bond as it celebrates 50 years of the 007 movie franchise.

It was also reported that Adele’s Skyfall track is expected to gain nomination for Best Original Song.

Snoop Lion’s shoots video in Jamaica

After his realisation that he was Bob Marley reincarnated in 2012, Snoop Lion, who was formally known as Snoop Dogg became all about reggae.

Subsequently, he released his first reggae single in 2012 titled La La La followed by Lighters Up, which will be on an upcoming album set to launch later this year.

Reports are that Snoop Lion recorded his first reggae video to Lighters Up, which features dancehall artistes Mavado and Popcaan in Portland over the weekend.
