10th Harold J Blissett Memorial Classic cycles off today
The 10th annual Harold J Blissett Memorial Classic runs today at the National Heroes Circle in Kingston with a total of eight cycling events, starting at 12:00 noon.
The participating fee is $500 and entries can be made at the registration centre, which will be opened from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.
Today’s opening race will be between junior competitors over 10 laps, while the headline challenge — contested in two categories — will see the island’s top cyclists battle for major honours and the coveted Harold Blissett Trophy.
Other events slated for the Memorial Classic will feature contests between female cyclists, Masters, Super Masters, and also MTB and BMX two-lap races.
Cash prizes and awards will be given to winners of each event and persons who have contributed to the sport of cycling will be officially recognised.
The day’s event is backed by the Blissett Cycling Club, which was founded in 1964.
