Nine-man Jamaica denied late in Panama
CHORRERA, Panama— Nine-man Jamaica held on for a 1-1 result against hosts Panama at the Estadio Muquita Sanchez on Saturday night in Group A of the CONCACAF Under-17 Championships.
Captain Junior Flemmings calmly slotted home a penalty in the 40th minute of play to give the Jamaicans a 1-0 lead at the half-time break.
Panama salvaged a point when Ismael Diaz headed in a rebound in the first minute of stoppage time.
The Jamaicans went down to 10 players when Ryan Miller was red-carded in the 68th minute. The visitors were then reduced to nine when Tyshan Hill was handed his second booking in the fourth minute of time added on.
In the opening game at the venue, Canada blanked Trinidad & Tobago 2-0.
Jamaica will next face Barbados on Monday.
