VCB for New York Diamond League meet
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Olympic Games and World Championship medallist Veronica Campbell-Brown confirmed last week that she would return to the IAAF Diamond League meet in New York this year where she will contest the 200m.
On a radio show in New York, Campbell-Brown confirmed she would compete in the May 25 meeting to be held at the Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island.
Campbell-Brown, who won the bronze medal in the 100m at last year’s Olympic Games in London and was fourth in the 200m, will be competing at the meet for the first time since the 2010 season when she beat American rival Allyson Felix in the 200m, running 21.98 seconds, the meet record and the fastest in the United States in almost 10 years.
One of the most decorated female sprinters ever with 18 global medals, Campbell Brown, who is also down to compete at the Jamaica International Invitational earlier in May, has won four times in her six appearances at the meet, including the 100m three times.
