Two firearms seized, six men arrested in Kingston
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Six men were arrested and two firearms seized in two separate incidents in Kingston between Thursday evening and today.
A Browning pistol and a magazine containing 15 rounds were seized on Glasspole Avenue in Rockfort, Kingston 2 Thursday night.
Reports are that a team of policemen was on patrol in the area when a group of men ran on seeing the cops. Checks were made in the area and the firearm and ammunition found.
Six men were taken into custody in connection with the incident.
Meanwhile, a Beretta pistol and a magazine with two rounds were seized on McWhinney Street, Southside in Kingston on Friday.
The police reported that they were patrolling the area when unknown assailants fired on them. The men ran, leaving the weapon behind
No one was arrested.
Investigations continue into both incidents.
