SO Loves Scandal!

What to do for the season two finale of ABC TV’s sizzling hot series Scandal? Make a call to an elite member of the global fabulocracy, of course — Michelle Hussey. That done, another to style doyenne Ardelle dalla Costa, who fluffed up her already gorgeous Terra Nova Suite. White blooms were a must, so Ann Marie Wyss was next. Olivia Pope seems to have a thing for red wine, so that was a must for the bar and the hotel’s manager Arlene Wynter concurred. SO and Michelle Hussey loove Champagne and there’s nothing quite like perfectly chilled Taittinger, right Geoffrey Markle Muah? We’d never really seen Olivia Pope enjoy dessert, but a decadent chocolate gateau crowned with plump strawberries would, we reckon pass muster. Well, the hotel’s pastry chef Paulette Mitchell certainly delivered. The menu, popcorn a must, mini coupes of tropical chicken salad, smoked marlin ceviche amuse-bouche, Parmesan crisps, jerked pita crisp, ham and cheese savoury bread pudding and an opulent bowl of fruit. Our guests, all 24 gladiators, were certainly in for a treat! Time now to check in and change.

Extraordinary lengths but essential for our beloved Kerry Washington (her mum is Jamaican), the star of Scandal whose toe-curling relationship with the president has amassed a veritable cult following. Plus, with viewing parties in some of the world’s major cities Kingston, Jamaica naturally had to be in the mix. The Gladiators arrived Scandalously Fab and led by Chief Gladiator Tishan Lee, the tweeting commenced#SOloves SCANDAL. Humorous quips, clutching of pearls, screams of glee OMG, Cyrus! moments, Carole Beckford in the house… Jackie Lechler trying to stay calm. Karen Neita philosophising. The series ended and SO and Lee can’t wait for Fall to plan another ‘gladiator gathering’. Last word ahead of cake-cutting and Taittinger toasts came courtesy of Debra Taylor, who perhaps said it best… “A little scandal never hurt anyone.”

And the Gladiators wore…
