PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC) — Trinidad and Tobago’s sprinter Kelly-Ann Baptiste ran a world-leading 10.83 seconds to win the women’s 100 metres final at the National Track and Field Championships at the Hasely Crawford Stadium yesterday.
Baptiste, with her previous best of 10.84 seconds, blasted away from the blocks and pulled away from her competitors to finish in a legal wind of 1.6 metres per second to erase her own national record.
Michelle-Lee Ahye was second in 11.06, and Semoy Hackett finished third in 11.30.
