Major works on the horizon
REGGAE singer D Major is currently recording tracks for his debut album It’s Major slated for release in the last quarter of this year.
It’s Major is produced by Penthouse Records and will be distributed by VP.
According to the entertainer, who is in his mid-20s, the 18-track album will showcase his versatility and growth as an artiste.
“It’s definitely gonna have a pinch of everything. It is not one-dimensional as it features party songs, roots reggae, R&B and drop reggae,” said D Major, whose real name is Damian Codlin.
Among the tracks are Real Know Real, and No More Distant, a collaboration with Busy Signal.
D Major said although he has been in the music industry for almost a decade, he was in no rush to do an album as he wanted to first increase his knowledge about the industry.
He said it was not easy to break out in the music industry.
“It is easier to break overseas. Some of my songs are number one in other countries. Jamaican audiences take longer to warm up to an artiste,” he said.
