Full house at Lines Dance Institute recital
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — There were few empty seats at the Cecil Charlton Hall on Sunday, June 23, as an appreciative audience watched dancers, some mere toddlers, exhibit skilfully choreographed moves at Lines Dance Institute’s Recital.
Held under the theme ‘Influences — the Moulds that Shape our Lives’, the show included a fusion of genres including tap, modern, jazz and African.
Jihan Cooke, founder and director of the institute, said that the staging was the sixth since she started business in Mandeville in 2010.
“It was a blessing in terms of the turnout. I have seen growth in the children, the production, and an increase in the response towards our product,” she said.
Guest dance performances came from the Knox Junior School and the National Dance Theatre Company (NDTC). Singers Lauren Allen and Bunny Rose were among the evening’s entertainers.
