Silver and bronze for Jamaica at World University Games
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’s Rasheed Dwyer and Danielle Williams today won silver and bronze respectively at the World University Games in Kazan, Russia.
Dwyer won the silver medal in the Men’s 200 metres clocking 20.23 seconds behind South Africa’s Anaso Jobodwana, who won in 20.00 seconds. Shota Iizuka of Japan was third in 20.33 seconds.
Meanwhile Williams took the bronze in the women’s 100m Hurdles in a time of 12.84 seconds.
Vashti Thomas of the USA won the event in a University Record 12.61. Alina Talay of Belarus was second in a season’s best 12.78.
