Razor B starts the party
Roger Cassup fondly recalls beating desks as his informal introduction to creating beats while attending St Jago High School. Now based in Canada, and recording as deejay Razor B, he is making a name as a professional entertainer in Toronto.
His current song, We Party, was recently released in Jamaica followed by a video that premiered on HYPE TV.
His sophomore album, This is Razor B, is available on ITunes.
Razor B, who is also a promoter, producer and dub poet, says making music with staying power is important to him.
“Good music doesn’t have an expiry date; generations will listen and love it. I have listened to Bob Marley, Beres Hammond, Sanchez, Buju Banton and Wayne Wonder for years now, and now my kids are listening to these artists. That’s the kind of music I want to make,” Razor B commented.
His previous recordings include Hot Girls to The Ring and Believe pay tribute to the fairer sex. However, he shows a more serious side on songs such as Watch Ya.
A regular on the Toronto live scene, Razor B last performed in Jamaica at Sting in 2010.
