Jamaica will be the first Caribbean country ever to host a reception for the FIFA World Cup Trophy.

Coca-Cola’s FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour comes to the National Indoor Sports Complex on Sunday, October 6, 2013.

The tour by Coca-Cola will be the first ever Latin American tour, with events in 39 countries across the region that is home to the host nation, Brazil.

The solid gold prize will descends upon the island of Jamaica on Saturday, October 5, a day early in preparation for the Trophy Tour taking place at both National Arena and the National Indoor Sports Complex because of the size of the exhibition.

It will be a historic event for this small island as football fans will have the rear, once in a lifetime opportunity to see the FIFA World Cup Trophy up close and personal. Thousands of Jamaicans are expected to be part of this historic moment as Coca-Cola offers this experience free of cost. Fans can redeem four specially marked Coca-Cola 20oz and 355ml labels for one ticket to attend the showcase on Sunday, October 6 at The National Indoor Arena.

Redemption centres now are fully active. The redemption locations include the National Stadium Ticket Office, Fridays and Saturdays 12 noon-8:00 pm until Sunday, October 6 while tickets are available. Total Service Stations will also offer ticket redemption from Monday- Saturday 12 noon-8:00 pm until Wednesday, October 2 islandwide.

For the urban areas Kingston and St Andrew, tickets can be redeemed at Total Liguanea, Total Cross Roads, Total Spanish Town Road, Total Harbour View Shopping Mall, Total Manor Park, Total Half Way Tree as well as Total Gilmour Drive along Washington Boulevard.

Portmore residents can redeem their tickets at the Total Service Station in Portmore Pines, while Spanish Town residents can claim theirs at Total Brunswick.

Other locations more suited to the rural side of the island will include, Total Ironshore in St James, Total Ocho Rios, Total Dunbar’s River in Sav-La-Mar along with Total Luna in St Elizabeth, and for Manchester, Total Caledonia Avenue will be the spot.

Coca-Cola will be paying tribute to some of the biggest names in Jamaican football to be a part of the global experience on Sunday, October 6, including former JFF President Lincoln ‘Happy’ Sutherland, Allan ‘Skill’ Cole, Edward Seaga, Captain Horace Burrell, former Jamaican National World Cup representatives Walter Boyd, Onandi Lowe, Theodore Whitmore and Warren Barrett to name a few. All these men have been instrumental in Jamaica’s footballing history. A euphoric atmosphere is anticipated for the tour on Sunday, October 6 at the National Indoor Arena, similar to Jamaica’s historic qualification to the 1998 FIFA World Cup Finals in France.

Former Reggae Boy Walter ‘Blacka’ Boyd is presented by the Coca-Cola FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour Goldies with his ticket to view the coveted FIFA World Cup Trophy on, Sunday October 6. Boyd also known as ‘The Pearl’ was considered the jewel in the crown of Jamaican football during the 1990s and his heroics helped to inspire the Reggae Boyz to their first and only berth to a FIFA World Cup Finals in France 1998.
