Frassdon turns pain into purpose with new singles
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Reggae-dancehall artiste Frassdon is using his music as a weapon of truth and healing, as he continues to promote his powerful single, We Are.
Released in March, We Are was co-produced by Frassdon and Kenneth Wright, and distributed through Studio Yard Music and Bylavibe Production.
The song is deeply rooted in personal experience, inspired by a painful betrayal that saw the artiste losing his life savings at the hands of a former business partner.
“This song is special to me because it’s real. I was robbed and disrespected by someone I trusted. It wasn’t just about money, it was about survival,” Frassdon shared.
Despite the ordeal, the artiste says he refused to let negativity define him, choosing instead to spread a message of unity and hope.
“I still believe in humanity. I still love my brothers and sisters. There’s still good people in the world, and when you listen to We Are, you will understand,” he said.
The production story behind the single highlights the determination driving the project. The track was mixed by Wright at Bylvibes Production studio in Grange Hill, Westmoreland, where a car battery was used to power the equipment during the process.
“That alone shows the level of dedication behind this song. We didn’t stop, no matter the circumstances,” Frassdon added.
In contrast to the personal tone of We Are, the artiste is also pushing One Stop, a socially conscious track that addresses the trauma caused by paedophiles and the devastating impact on victims.
“This is something we can’t ignore. One Stop is about protecting the innocent and bringing awareness to what’s happening in our communities,” he explained.
Known for his fearless approach to storytelling, Frassdon continues to build his career by tackling real-life issues through music, blending raw emotion with meaningful messages.
With both We Are and One Stop, the artiste is positioning himself as a voice for truth — using his platform not just to entertain, but to inspire change and spark conversation.
