Miss T’s for the Food Network
Jamaica Food Awards nominee Anna Kay Tomlinson, owner of Miss T’s in Ocho Rios, is set to appear on the Food Network alongside celebrity chef Guy Fieri on Monday, October 28 when Tomlinson’s popular eatery will be featured on a TV special, titled Guy’s Family Cruise.
“It’s a dream come true,” an ecstatic Tomlinson shared with Thursday Life. A long-time fan of Fieri, she often told her husband Dr Osmond Tomlinson, “One day I’m going to be on Fieri’s show,” and fortune warmly smiled on the Rock chef and made her dream reality. Tomlinson rubbed shoulders with Fieri as part of a Jamaican contingent of chefs who participated in a reggae party-themed culinary event at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival in February this year.
However, the television encounter with Fieri was by sheer happenstance, as the chef and his production team were originally slated to visit Turks and Caicos on a cruise for filming. Tomlinson revealed that a viral infection outbreak resulted in the cruise ship being re-routed to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. By way of networking, Fieri’s producers were reliably informed that both Scotchie’s and Miss T’s were culinary hot spots in the resort town.
So what did Fieri and his family have on their plates?
Tomlinson divulges she and her team — who were filmed by Food Network in March — served curried ackee and bammies, curried goat, rundown shrimp, oxtail with broad beans and spinners, and Devon House I-Scream with her signature chocolate sauce.
