Salada/Delite partner to sponsor Junior High football
SALADA Foods Jamaica Limited and Delite of Facey Commodity Company Limited have come up together with a joint sponsorship of the 2013 Junior High Schoolboys football competition that kicked off with its opening ceremony and matches at the Maverley playingfield last week Tuesday.
Although the sponsors have not disclosed the sum of the joint sponsorship, they have welcomed their sponsorship for the 17 schools which are participating in the competition.
According to Bernadette Wong, marketing and sales director of Salada Foods Jamaica Limited, “our company is very pleased to be associated with the sponsorship of the Junior High Schoolboy football competition”.
“It is one of our outreach programmes that we believe in and will be a continuing out by our company,” Wong said.
She said the sponsorship deal includes fitting out each school with playing shorts and jerseys, footballs to each school, paying the referees’ fees, medals and trophies, plaques, and also the preparation of the playing fields.
Wong added that, at each venue, they will supply the players with water, fruit drink, and popularise their current products.
Meanwhile, Deidre Chen, brand manager of Salada Facey Commodity, said, “Delite is pleased to come on board and are grateful to involved.”
She told the players that they should do their best and have fun. “Respect your opponents, play hard and fair. We wish all the very best of luck and may the best team win.”
Derrick Brown, president of the Junior High Schools Sports Association (JHSSA) said it was a great day for the schools with a sponsorship of this nature.
The president encouraged the players and teams to do their very best and urged them to be disciplined.
