Kartel jurors get Christmas break
THE murder trial of dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel and four co-accused will resume on January 6, 2014 in open court.
An aspect of the trial has been ongoing outside the presence of jurors and the media. Justice Lennox Campbell is hearing the evidence, which has to do with securitysensitive information, in camera to determine which aspect of it to allow jurors to hear.
On Monday the court barred the jurors and continued to hear testimony from witness Sergeant Patrick Linton, former head of the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Cybercrimes Unit.
Kartel (Adidja Palmer), Shawn ‘Shawn Storm’ Campbell, Shane Williams, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones are being tried for murder in the alleged beating death of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams on August 16, 2011.
