Police report two convictions for lottery scamming
ST JAMES, Jamaica–The Lottery Scam Task Force (LSTF) have reported two convictions for breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) (Special Provisions) Act in the Montego Bay Circuit Court in St James
On Monday, January 20th, 21-year-old Marlon Davis of Grange Pen, Lilliput in St James pleaded guilty for breaching the Act and on Wednesday, 24-year-old George Thompson of Wagon Wheel district also in St James, pleaded guilty when he appeared in court.
Reports are that Thompson was arrested on July 17, 2013; after he was searched and a quantity of lead lists was found in his possession, while Davis was arrested on December 28, 2013 during an operation. Both men were charged for Possession of Identity Information and will be sentenced on Friday, January 24.
