Sigma Run surpasses target, gets $21.6M for beneficiaries
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Sagicor Group Jamaica, organisers of the annual Sigma Corporate Run, surpassed its $17 million monetary target when a total of J$21,679,075 was presented to the 2014 charities during a symbolic cheque handover at the 16th staging on Sunday.
Representatives of the charities; Dr Jennifer Knight-Madden of the Sickle Cell Unit TMRI at the University of the West Indies (UWI) and the Sickle Cell Trust in Mandeville; Dr Minerva Thame of The Special Care Nursery at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI), and Dr Maolynne Miller of Jamaica Kidney Kids Foundation and Professor Graham Serjeant of the Sickle Cell Trust; were all there for the symbolic presentation.
