Which of your House of Blue Eyes pieces has been done the most justice by a celebrity?

Lady Gaga wore a black PVC House of Blue Eyes cape on the cover of her album The Fame Monster and looked incredible.

What looks are in, and what should be retired from wardrobes in 2014?

I have collected clothes and accessories for many years ago and have a large vintage archive in London. I still wear pieces that I’ve had for over 20 years and add new prices as and when I see something I love. I do not believe in the idea of garments being ‘in’ or ‘out’. I believe in true individuality, so my recommendation is to wear, what you love to wear that feels right for you, freely and proudly!

Fashion-wise, is there any element or persona in Jamaica that you would consider incorporating into your style?

I LOVE JAMAICA and I found a home away from home at Geejam and I’ve had an incredible experience staying there – it’s magical! I have fallen in love with the island and I am so inspired by its magic and the wonderful people I have met here. I loved shopping at the market in Port Antonio,where I bought brightly coloured shirts with wonderful prints. I also bought the beautiful handmade cross (that I am wearing) from a lovely lady who has a store in Boston, bringing unique garments and hand made jewellery from Africa.

What can we look forward to seeing from both Johnny the stylist and Johnny the designer in the year ahead?

Working with incredible new artists. Look out for Charlotte OC, Syron and Hawkhouse who are all going to fly high in 2014.

Outside of your immediate clientele, who wins your seal of approval as the female and male celebs with the most unpretentious sense of style?

I’m always inspired by people who have their own individual style. Marianne Faithfull and David Bowie both inspire me and continue to. Everyone in the world is different, so I feel passionately that we should all express ourselves in our own unique way.
