KINGSTON, Jamaica — Lead prosecutor Jeremy Taylor came out firing from the hip, as he continued his closing argument in a bid to seek a conviction of Vybz Kartel and his four co-accused in the murder trial at the Supreme Court downtown Kingston Wednesday morning.

In a passionate address Taylor said the five co accused were not saints. 

“There are no saints here, there is no Sunday school here. There is no church here. These are not people whose hands are washed, they are not pure. There are all people who are skirting on the fringes of the law,” he said.

He repeated the prosecution’s claim that Clive Lloyd Williams also called ‘Lizard’ was by no means a paragon of virtue.

“It has always been the prosecution’s case, that Clive Lloyd Williams, although he did not deserve to die the way he died, was not a saint, he was not pure. He had a case before the gun court; he is not now able to be tried before a tribunal for that. That has been taken away from him, it has not been taken away from any of the five accused,” Taylor said as the panel of jurors looked on intently.
