REGGAE gospel singer Neilo Gallant is currently working on his debut album, Warning, which he intends to release in June.

The 10-track set is being produced on his Kanel Bank Productions label.

He describes the set as a fusion of reality and social commentary.

“I am coming with a few new mixes between revolutionary reggae music and the vocal style and harmony of traditional gospel,” he said.

Gallant, 42, said the album is for everyone as he deals with a wide range of topical issues.

The title track, Warning, as well as Zion is Waiting, Rise Up and Young Girl have already been released ahead of the album’s release.

“Since the singles have been released, I have been getting tremendous responses. Everybody loves them,” he said.

Hailing from Spanish Town, Neilo Gallant (given name Oneil Gallant) grew up in the tough community of De la Vega City.

He rose to prominence in the 1990s on the church circuit as part of the gospel quartet, Delegates.

In 2005, he said he felt the urge to go solo.

“I believe traditional gospel was losing its popularity and I also wanted to do my own thing,” he said.

Since then, he has been forging ahead to create a name among Jamaica’s established gospel artistes.

“My belief in myself and my spirituality will take me to that level one day,” Gallant added.
