Uprising at Redbones
THE Uprising Roots Band led a lively evening of performances at Redbones Blues Café in St Andrew recently.
Performing tracks mainly from their second album, Black to Roots, the east Kingston outfit was all energy. Brighter Day, Might Can’t Beat Right, Black to Roots and Skyfiya were some of the songs that had patrons grooving.
Opening act Lee Tafari, best known as a selector on Lee’s Unlimited Vinyl Series, showed another side of his act. Backed by the One Drop Band, he did the original songs, Upliftment, Share and No Littering.
Another artiste who gave a strong showing was Earth Warrior. He created a buzz with the Wailing Souls anthem Jah Jah Give Us Life.
