Spice gets LINKAGE AWARD NOD

DANCEHALL artiste Spice is among the nominees for the Female Deejay of the Year Award in the Linkage Award slated for the Evander Child’s High School 800 East Gunhill Road, Bronx, New York, on Saturday, May 3.

Now in its fifth year, the Linkage Awards honour disc jocks and artistes.

According to her, she is appreciative of the recognition as it is a testament to the hard work she has put in over the year.

“It’s always good to be nominated and even though you may not emerge the winner, the fact that you are nominated simply means that you are recognised,” she told Splash.

The other nominees for that category include Lady Saw, Macka Diamond and Tifa.

The Romping Shop deejay, however, regrets she will not be able to attend the ceremony as her United Kingdom tour will be kicking off in April.

Spice (given name Grace Hamilton) has been enjoying a fair amount of airplay with her latest singles So Mi Like It and Go. Released over a month ago, both are produced by McKnight Records.
