Chevaughn Clayton gets Hopeless Romantic on EP
PERSONAL relationships inspired singer Chevaughn Clayton’s five-track EP Hopeless Romantic, which will be released this month.
It contains the tracks Love Won’t Leave Me Alone (featuring Spragga Benz), Head Over Heels, I Didn’t Know, a cover of John Legend’s This Time and Unfinished Song.
A joint production with Coalitian Entertainment and Notice Distribution, Hopeless Romantic will be distributed by Zojak Worldwide.
Clayton, known in music circles as lead singer of the C Sharp band, says some of the songs were written three years ago. The final thrust to complete the EP came after a relationship in which he was involved ended last year.
However, he is quick to
point out the songs are not about despair.
“Hopeless Romantic is where people will be able to see and meet me — the real me. And with that they will find I’m just like them and appreciate my thoughts that much more,” he told the Sunday Observer.
Clayton has paid his dues. He won the Tastee Talent Contest at age 10 and had stints with the Fabulous Five and Unique Vision bands.
While attending the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, he was part of the Further Notice and
C Sharp bands.
Clayton’s solo career
took off in 2009 with the popular summer hit, Holiday, with Ding Dong.
Though he will be
promoting Hopeless Romantic,
Clayton stated his commitment to C-Sharp.
