MONTEGO BAY, St James — Defending champions Wadadah FC moved back into semi-final contention while driving another nail in Norwood Strikers’ coffin after mauling them 6-0 in their JFF Captain’s Bakery and Grill/Charley’s JB Rum Western Confederation Super League return-round game at the UDC Field on Tuesday.

Anthony Marks shook off a barren run to score twice in the second half after Wadadah FC led 2-0 at half-time and moved into joint fourth place with Tomorrow’s People on 25 points.

Reno FC lead with 33 points from 16 games and are tied with Savannah SC on points, while the latter has played one game less; Sandals White House are in third place on 28 points, while the St James clubs Tomorrow’s People and Wadadah FC are next. Wadadah also have a game in hand as well.

Norwood Strikers’ season continues to spiral out of control as they have some eight games without a win and have earned a single point in their last 12 games, giving up 35 goals in the process, and are last in the tables on eight points.

On Tuesday, Damion Reid started the goal feast when he scored in the 13th minute, while schoolboy and former National Under-15 player Tyshan Hill added a second in the 42nd minute, his third of the season.

Oshane Forbes, a daCosta Cup teammate of Hill at Spot Valley High, made it 3-0 in the 57th minute with his second goal of the season and his first since the opening-game draw against Tomorrow’s People.

Marks then put the game out of reach of Norwood Strikers with his seventh and eighth goals of the season in the 63rd and 75th minutes, while player/coach Daniel Ricketts finished off the scoring when he netted his first of the season in the 77th minute.
