KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Wray and Nephew Contender enters its fourth season and the organisers have added a new twist and a Caribbean flavour to the boxing competition.Team Jamaica (Green) Coached by Carl GrantTeam Caribbean (Yellow) – Coach Andrew Boland 

For this season the Green Team will comprise Jamaican boxers who will go up against the Yellow Team, which consists of boxers from the wider Caribbean,  Guyana, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago. 

Eight Jamaican boxers including Sakima Mullings, Tsetsi ‘Lights Out’ Davis and Donovan ‘Police’ Campbell will do battle against Team Caribbean. The Jamaica Team is led by Coach Carl Grant and the Caribbean team by Coach Andrew Boland.  

The boxers will be competing for a share of J$3 million in prize money, with the winner of the Wray & Nephew Contender walking away with J$2 million and the title of Jamaica’s Ultimate Welterweight Boxer.  The runner-up will receive J$500,000, third place will receive J$250,000 and fourth place, J$200,000.

The opening bout takes place on March 19 at the Chinese Benevolent Centre, with Yellow Team’s Guyanese boxer Revlon Lake taking on Sakima Mullings of  the Green Team.
