MONTEGO BAY, St James — Faulkland FC and Cambridge FC were winners on Wednesday as the St James FA Guardian Life Division Two kicked off with a double-header at the UDC Field.

Brian Barker scored a hat-trick and Peter-Lee Vassell got a double as Faulkland FC outclassed Belmont FC 5-0 in a Zone B game, while Cambridge were 2-1 winners over Bogue FC in a Zone A encounter.

Faulkland led 2-0 at half-time with goals from Vassell in the 17th and Barker in the 44th minutes.

Barker got his second in the 60th, while Vassell then made the scores 4-0 in the 81st before Barker completed his hat-trick in the 90th minute.

In the first game, Devon Ramsey scored the winner in the 90th minute for Cambridge to break a 1-1 tie; Obrien Bent had put Cambridge in the lead in the 49th minute before Nicholas Campbell levelled the scores for Bogue in the 83rd minute.

In two more games scheduled today, Sam Sharpe Teachers College host Somerton, while Boys’ Club Colts and Fore House will meet at the UDC Field, both games set to start at 3:00 pm.

Twelve teams are taking part in the competition and they will play in two first-round groups — Somerton FC, Stonehenge FC, Cambridge FC, Amity Hall PYC, Sam Sharpe TC and Bogue FC will contest Zone A, while Faulkland FC, Belmont FC, Fire House SC, Providence FC, Boys Club Colts and Margaritaville SC are the teams in Zone B.

They will play each other twice before the top-two in each zone advance to the semi-finals.
