WAKEFIELD, Trelawny — Fire FC have retaken the lead in Zone Two of the Trelawny Football Association Monymusk White Overproof Rums Division One after they were awarded full points from their unplayed game against Granville FC on Wednesday.

Granville FC’s failure to appear meant Fire FC were awarded three points by the competition’s disciplinary committee, taking them to 14 points from seven games to lead Baca Star United by two points with Muschett High in third place on eight points.

Muschett led Martha Brae 4-0 at Muschett High when their game was prematurely called off in the 55th minute. The competition’s committee is to meet and make a ruling.

In games played, Oniel Samuels scored two goals for Zone One leaders Upsetters FC in their 5-2 come-from-behind win over Daniel Town, while Jackson Town beat Sherwood United 3-0.

Devon Armstrong gave Daniel Town the lead in the 22nd minute, but Upsetters FC responded with goals from Samuels in the 35th minute to level the scores and Romario Blake in the 44th to give them the lead just before half-time.

Samuels completed his brace in the 51st minute to extend the lead to 3-1 before goals from Peter Brock in the 80th minuteand Desron Whyne in the 87th took the game away from Daniel Town.

Shane Brown, however, got a second goal for the losers in the 88th minute.

At Jackson Town, the home team beat Sherwood United 3-0 to avenge a first-round loss with goals from Everton Miller in the 16th minute, Richard Williams in the 30th and Nicardo Brown in the 90th minute.
