Man on manslaughter charge after woman’s death
MANCHESTER, Jamaica – A Kingston man, identified as Corbett Fagan, is to face the Manchester Resident Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday on a manslaughter charge following the death of a 42-year-old woman in a motor vehicle crash.
The deceased has been identified as Ann O’Gilvie of Greenvale, just outside of Mandeville.
Reports are that O’Gilvie had exited a taxi about 7:00 am Monday on the Content main road in central Manchester and was in the process of paying her fare when a vehicle crashed into the taxi.
Fagan was allegedly driving that vehicle.
O’Gilvie was killed, while the taxi driver as well as a student of Bellefield High were rushed to hospital. The student was treated and released. However, the driver was still in hospital up to Tuesday afternoon, police said.
