Hyde completes hurdles double at Champs
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Wolmer’s Boy’s Jaheel Hyde continues to impress at the ISSA/Grace Kennedy Boys and Girls Championships on Saturday, wining the Class one 110m hurdles to complete a double.
Hyde, who won the 400m hurdles in a record 49.49 seconds on Friday, came from behind to win the shorter version in 13.53 seconds over Jamaica College’s Tyler Mason. The double gold medallist, after the race, said he was confident he would win.
“I didn’t get the start that I wanted… I powered through. With my 400m experience I knew I had the endurance. I knew that he couldn’t beat me and I wanted that gold medal,” he said.
