Kemps Hill advance to Major League semi-final

MAY PEN, Clarendon — The semi-final line-up for the Clarendon Captain’s Bakery Major League has been completed after Kemps Hill thrashed Famous FC on Saturday to join early qualifiers Jamalco, Treadlight and Four Paths in the last four.

The 4-0 victory means the south-east Clarendon side advanced from Zone One ahead of perennial title challengers New Bowens who would have progressed had Kemps Hill failed to beat Famous.

Kemps Hill ended the preliminary round on 17 points, just one ahead of Bowens and five adrift of Zone winners Jamalco (22).

Zone Two was won by promoted team Treadlight.

The beaten mid-season finalists finished the prelims on 23 points from 10 games — six ahead of former champions Four Paths, who just edged out York Town courtesy of a superior goal difference.

The semi-final ties, scheduled for Saturday will now pit Jamalco, the defending and mid-season champions, against Four Paths, while Treadlight and Kemps Hill, the other promoted team, will meet in the other match-up.
