Alleged lottery scammers caught in the act in Mandeville
MANCHESTER Jamaica — Three suspected lottery scammers were reportedly caught in the act by members of the Manchester Proactive Investigation Unit this morning (Thursday, May 22).
Police report that upon entering a house during a raid at Harcourt Drive in Mandeville about 10:30 am, male voices were heard with a foreign accent trying to convince individuals to send money to Jamaica.
Several lead sheets containing the name, address, telephone, and social security numbers of people living in the United States were found in the closet of one of the bedrooms at the house, the police say.
The men are to be charged under the Law Reform Fraudulent Transaction Special Provisions Act 2013.
