CATHERINE HALL, St James — Howard Cooke Primary of St James won the second staging of the Montego Bay leg of the Samsung Cup football competition on Saturday, beating Fullerswood Primary of St Elizabeth 5-1 in the final played at the Montego Bay Sports Complex in Catherine Hall.
Johann Fraser scored two hat-tricks, one in the final after scoring another in the semi-final win over last year’s winners Irwin Primary on his way to being named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the final.
Howard Cooke will now face Urban Area champions Quest Primary in the allisland play-offs at the University of Technology field next Saturday after Fullerswood and Mona meet in the third-place play-offs.

In the final that was partially played in rain, the Montego Bay based school led 2-0 at half-time and led 5-0 before Fullerswood were able to get one back, almost at full time in the 30-minute game. Fraser gave them the lead after 12 minutes and Alex Forbes made it 2-0 on the stroke of half time.
Prince Christie who towered over all the players on the field made it 3-0 in the 17th minute before Fraser scored two more in the 22nd and 30th to complete his second hat-trick of the day.
