Aunt Lola’s Jerk Sauce, although relatively new on the market, was a big hit in the St Ann Pavilion at the Denbigh Agricultural show in Clarendon last weekend.

The beautiful arrangement of the products quickly disappeared as people bought and sampled the item.

Vaughn Barnaby, parish manager for RADA in St Ann said that Aunt Lola’s Jerk Sauce made a big impression although it was a first timer.

“I think they did well. This is the first time we have invited them to Denbigh,” he said.

The new jerk sauce was seen by some patrons as the “star” of the St Ann Pavilion.

Barnaby said that the Jerk Sauce not only did well as a new product, but that it is one that promotes rural development.

“It shows what is happening in St Ann. They buy from the local farmers so they promote agro processing,” he stated.

Barnaby stated that the St Ann branch of the Rural Agricultural Development Authority was overjoyed with Aunt Lola’s Jerk Sauce being a part of the show.

“We think they did well and made some very interested contacts,” Barnaby said.

Through the display the company was able to garner both local and international attention at the show.

“It’s now for them to follow up,” Barnaby added.

Managing director of Aunt Lola’s Jerk Sauce, Marlon Francis said that he was elated with the response that the company got on the historic Denbigh stop.

In the meantime, Barnaby said that the St Ann pavilion did not do as well as last year. However, St Ann hopes to “come bigger and better next year,” Barnaby went on.
