Mandeville water supply to improve by next weekend – NWC
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Communities in the Greater Mandeville area that have been experiencing intermittent water supply since Friday can expect to see some level of normality soon.
“We expect to see a significant improvement by next weekend,” National Water Commission (NWC) Community Relations Manager for the Western Division Julia Gordon told OBSERVER ONLINE Monday.
She said that a pump located in Pepper, St Elizabeth, which assists in the flow of water supply to Manchester, is out of service.
A replacement, Gordon said, has been ordered from overseas and will be in the island this week.
She said that residents in Greater Mandeville are without water more times than they have due to the hilly nature of the parish.
The affected areas include Ward Avenue, Mike Town, Heartease, May Day, Balvenie, Georges Valley, Lincoln, Grey Ground, Newport, Albion, Marshall’s Pen and Dunrobin.
