Sky Liners win Insports Portland Credit Union netball
PORT ANTONIO, Portland — Sky Liners were crowned Insports Portland Credit Union netball champions on Saturday after defeating Reich 29-14 at the Port Antonio Craft Village to take the championship trophy and $50,000 in prize money and medals.
The team’s goal attack Terri-Ann Jones was also adjudged the competition’s most valuable player.
Reich, the runners-up for the second time, received $25,000 and medals, while Flawless, who were third, got $10,000 and medals for their effort.
Anthony Morrison, Portland Credit Union marketing manager, said: “We are very pleased with the competition and we will be back next year. We will make some recommendations and adjustments to next year’s competition, but we are committed to the development of netball in the communities and sporting facilities within the parish.
“We look forward to the netballers playing in this competition moving on to the national programme and the other leagues,” he stated.
