Mr Vegas to share Euphoria

DANCEHALL singjay Mr Vegas said he is reinventing himself for his upcoming project Euphoria.

Thek album — produced by Danny Browne and Clevand Browne [aka Clevie, formerly of production duo Steely and Clevie fame] — is slated to be released digitally on September 23.

“The listeners will get a chance to hear a more vocal side of me, where I am not singjaying or deejaying. Most of the tracks have an authentic Jamaican sound. It has an island vibe to it and I do believe that the fans will love it,” he told the Jamaica Observer.

According to Vegas, whose given name is Clifford Smith, the single My Jam is poised to be a huge hit. He said the track gives a jolt of happiness, with an infectious retro beat which will force anyone to be in a dancing mood.

He also has high hopes for a collab with Jovi Rockwell titled I Was Lonely and another with Sherita called Girl I’ve Got a Date. The latter is a cover version of the late Alton Ellisâ hit of the same name.

Among the other tracks are Hallelujah, The Climb and Luv, which features Krystal La’reign.

“We all know that the music isn’t selling the way it should, so I hope that the fans will enjoy this album and that the feedback will be good. I am anticipating a few tours from this album also,” said Mr Vegas.

The singjay’s last studio album was a double CD, Sweet Jamaica, in 2012. That set debuted at number seven on Billboard magazine’s Reggae Album chart. His other studio sets include Heads High (1998), Damn Right (2001), and Hot It Up (2007).
