Windies defeat Bangladesh in first ODI
KINGSTON, Jamaica – West Indies won the first One Day International against Bangladesh by three wickets at the Grenada National Stadium on Wednesday.
The hosts won the toss and chose to field with Bangladesh reaching 217 for nine off their allotted 50 overs. Anamul Haque top scored for Bangladesh with 109.
Needing 218 for a win West Indies got off to a dismal start losing opener Chris Gayle for 3 in the sixth over with the score on nine.
The Windies then rallied from 34 for 5 through the efforts of Denesh Ramdin (74) and Kieron Pollard (89) to finish at 219 for seven off 39.4 overs.
